In the world, at least 2.2 billion people suffer from visual impairment or blindness. Additionally, 1.2 billion people don’t have access to eyeglasses. In Nepal, over 200,000 people are blind and 3,557,000 people are visually impaired. Similarly, over 3,000 people need cataract surgery and over 100,000 people require spectacles in Lalitpur district.

The CVC Eye Care Center is dedicated to providing high-quality eye health services to the people of Lalitpur and its vicinity. The CVC has a dedicated team of ophthalmic personnel including public health specialists, consultant ophthalmologists, ocularists, ophthalmic assistants, and opticians.

Dr. Khim leads the CVC Eye Care Center with over 25 years of experience in eye health service, especially in establishing sustainable eye care centers and conducting outreach programs in Nepal and abroad.

Mr. Kumar is inclusively involved in managing the CVC Eye Care Center, including human resources and community programs. He brings 20 years of experience in clinical eye health and ocularist (artificial eye) services.

Mr. Shiva Raj manages the CVC finance and accounts with over 15 years of experience in accounting, finance, and administration. He holds a Master’s in Business Studies and is a Certified Management Accountant.

Dr. Arjun Shrestha

Dr. Arjun, a consultant ophthalmologist, has performed over 20,000 phaco, 80,000 SICS, and 1,500 vitreoretinal surgeries. He serves as Department Head of Ophthalmology at BP Eye Foundation CHEERS Hospital.

Mr. Nabin manages the legal aspects of CVC. With 10 years of legal experience, he ensures proper legal management and compliance for the organization.

Community Vision Care collaborates with local health organizations and clinics across Nepal to bring essential eye care services to underserved communities. Through center-based and outreach programs, we strive to prevent and treat vision problems for people of all ages.

Our Impact

The CVC Eye Care Center continues the legacy of the Model Eye Center. Since our founding, over 37,000 patients have received eye checkups, and over 900 patients have had their sight restored. By combining expertise, compassion, and community outreach, we make eye care accessible to those who need it most.
